Massive escalation: Iran launches 78th wave of missile strikes on Israel, US bases | VIDEO

Tehran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Tuesday the 78th wave of its ongoing retaliatory offensive, "Operation True Promise 4," targeting major Israeli urban centres and several United States military installations throughout the region.
In a statement broadcast by state-run Press TV, the IRGC detailed the latest phase of the campaign, which utilised missile and drone strikes against what it termed "highly sensitive" sites. The targets included the coastal city of Eilat, northern Tel Aviv, and the area surrounding the Dimona nuclear reactor complex.
The IRGC noted that this specific stage of the operation "has set a distinct record in the timeline of the war."
Escalation and Strategic Strikes
The Corps characterised the new wave as a major escalation, coinciding with massive pro-government rallies across Iran where millions reportedly gathered with "clenched fists" to signal their support. Military officials confirmed the use of Emad and multi-warhead Qadr missile systems, alongside a fleet of attack drones, to strike the port of Eilat and northern Tel Aviv.
This marks the second time in recent days that the area near Dimona has been targeted. The IRGC claimed a previous strike in the same vicinity and the nearby city of Arad resulted in more than 200 casualties.
The statement further asserted that the IRGC is currently "negotiating with the vile, child-killing aggressors through impact-driven operations." It described the strikes as a necessary response to the joint U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran that began late last month.
Threat of Total Mobilisation
Tehran warned that the conflict could intensify significantly, noting that the vast majority of its combat units and millions of members of the Basij volunteer force have remained in reserve.
The Corps cautioned that any attempt by adversaries to recover from their setbacks or alter the war's trajectory would trigger immediate retaliation. Iran’s "heavy blow" would fall "in less than an instant" on those responsible for the aggression, the statement said.
Collateral Damage in Kuwait
The regional fallout of the aerial campaign was felt in Kuwait early Tuesday. Falling shrapnel from air defence interceptions caused seven overhead power transmission lines to fail, according to the Anadolu News Agency.
The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy confirmed that the damage resulted in partial blackouts across several regions. Ministry spokeswoman Fatima Abbas Jawhar Hayat stated on X that specialised technical teams are prepared to begin repairs once security authorities secure the affected sites.
"Specialised technical teams will begin their work as soon as the sites are secured in coordination with security authorities to assess the damage and proceed with repairing the affected lines according to the highest safety and security standards," the ministry stated.
Jawhar Hayat urged the public to rely on official information and confirmed that emergency teams are working to ensure the continuity of the national electrical grid as updates become available.
