Madrid: At least 25 people were injured after a powerful explosion tore through a bar in Madrid, according to local authorities. The blast occurred around 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon at Mis Tesoros, a bar located in the Puente de Vallecas district of the Spanish capital.

Emergency services reported that two victims are in serious condition, while three others sustained potentially serious injuries. Firefighters rescued four people from the rubble.

Officials suspect a gas leak may have triggered the explosion, although the exact cause remains under investigation. Carlos Marín, head of the Madrid City Council Fire Department, confirmed that the blast was linked to gas, but said the type and source were still unknown.

Speaking to reporters, Deputy Mayor Inmaculada Sanz emphasized that it was "too early" to determine the exact cause. She confirmed that no further victims are believed to be trapped under the debris.

The explosion severely damaged the entrance area of the building, leaving it unstable and "completely inaccessible," according to fire department officials. While some upper-floor apartments remain intact, residents from nine units have been displaced and will require temporary housing over the coming days.
