A political scandal has erupted in Washington after Kristi Noem’s insurance mogul husband, Bryon Noem, was accused in a bombshell report of sharing cross-dressing photos, including images featuring apparent fake breasts, and engaging in private online conversations with adult entertainers.

The Daily Mail published images and messages it claims show Bryon Noem, 56, posing in hot pink shorts and a skin-coloured top padded with what appeared to be balloon-stuffed fake breasts. The outlet reported that he exchanged “hundreds” of messages with women associated with the “bimbofication” subculture, praising their surgically exaggerated bodies and sending them money.

The allegations have reportedly devastated Kristi Noem, who was removed from her post in March by Donald Trump. Her spokesperson told The New York Post: “The family was blindsided by this, and they ask for privacy and prayers at this time.”

Online messages, alleged payments and fetish content

According to the report, Bryon Noem used digital payment platforms to transfer at least $25,000 to women he interacted with over several months. Chats obtained by the outlet suggest he shared selfies, made comments about his wife, and expressed fascination with exaggerated body modification aesthetics.

Some women allegedly pressured him for money, and at least one shared his behaviour publicly before deleting the post. A photograph cited by the report shows him in a crop top and tight shorts.

When reached by phone, Bryon Noem denied sending explicit images or engaging in inappropriate conversations, responding: “Yeah, I made no comments like that, that would lead to that… I deny the second part of that,” before ending the call.

National security concerns raised

Security experts quoted by the Daily Mail warned that such behaviour, if accurate, could pose significant risks for the spouse of a senior federal official.

Former CIA officer Marc Polymeropoulos said compromising personal material can be exploited by hostile intelligence services, calling the case “espionage 101.”

Former Soviet spy Jack Barsky said it was “astounding” that someone tied to a figure at that level would show “that kind of bad judgment.”

Trump reacts to the allegations

President Donald Trump, when asked about the report, said he had not yet reviewed it but called the allegations “certainly shocking.” He added: “They confirmed it? Wow, well, I feel badly for the family if that’s the case, that’s too bad.”

Trump dismissed Kristi Noem from her post earlier this month, and she has since been appointed special envoy to The Shield of the Americas, a relatively new and little-known security body.

Past controversies and marital scrutiny

The couple’s personal life has been the subject of speculation before. Kristi Noem has long faced rumours about an alleged relationship with former Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski, claims both parties have rejected. She recently dismissed the allegations during a House Judiciary Committee hearing, saying: “I am shocked we're going down and peddling tabloid garbage in this committee.”

Meanwhile, the Noems, married since 1992, share three adult children and have built a public image around family life and conservative values. The latest revelations have intensified scrutiny, particularly given Kristi Noem’s political stance on LGBTQ+ issues during her time as governor of South Dakota.
