Montana: In an unfortunate incident, a small plane landing at a Montana airport crashed into a parked aircraft on Monday, triggering a large fire. Fortunately, no one suffered serious injuries, authorities said.

The single-engine Socata TBM 700 turboprop aircraft, which was carrying four people at the time of the accident, was attempting to land at the Kalispell City Airport, according to Kalispell Police Chief Jordan Venezio and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the aircraft collided with an unoccupied plane on the ground. The crash sparked a fire that spread to a nearby grassy area before being extinguished, according to Venezio, who added that multiple aircraft were affected.

The small, city-owned airport lies just south of Kalispell, a northwest Montana city with a population of about 30,000. A footage of the incident has since gone viral on social media. Following the accident, the pilot and three passengers were able to get out on their own on time.

Two passengers were slightly hurt and treated at the airport.

The plane was built in 2011 and owned by Meter Sky LLC of Pullman, Washington, FAA records show. Company representatives did not immediately respond to a telephone message seeking comment. AP
