‘Trump was aware’: Epstein emails allege US President knew of his actions

Washinton DC: Convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein alleged in emails that Donald Trump knew about his conduct and had visited his home, spending several hours there with one of his victims, The New York Times reported, citing material obtained by the US Congress.
The email, part of a series reviewed by congressional investigators, was reportedly written by Epstein before his death in 2019. It allegedly suggests that Trump was present at Epstein’s residence during encounters with a woman later identified as one of the victims in the case.
According to the Times report, lawmakers examining Epstein’s communications are probing possible connections between his extensive network of powerful associates and his criminal activities. The documents are believed to have surfaced as part of a broader inquiry into how Epstein maintained influence among political and business figures for decades.
Trump has previously denied any wrongdoing or close association with Epstein, despite earlier public appearances and social connections between the two in the 1990s and early 2000s. Epstein, who was awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, died in his jail cell in August 2019 in what was ruled a suicide.
The New York Times report, citing communications obtained by congressional investigators, revealed that Jeffrey Epstein made direct allegations about Donald Trump’s awareness of his illicit conduct. The email reportedly indicates that Trump spent “hours” at Epstein’s house with a woman who was later identified as a victim of the convicted financier.
These revelations form part of a wider investigation by congressional committees into Epstein’s communications, influence, and network of high-profile individuals. The documents in question include exchanges between Epstein and political figures, some of which shed new light on how he may have leveraged relationships to evade scrutiny for years.
Trump, who knew Epstein socially before cutting ties with him in the early 2000s, has repeatedly denied knowledge of or involvement in Epstein’s criminal actions. The Times emphasised that the newly surfaced emails have not yet been independently verified beyond the congressional record but could reignite scrutiny over Epstein’s political connections.
Epstein’s long history of association with prominent public figures has continued to generate controversy even years after his death. The ongoing congressional review aims to determine whether any individuals within Epstein’s circle had knowledge of, or participation in, his criminal network.
