Washington: Videos of pets often garner significant attention on social media, receiving numerous likes and shares. However, a recent video from the United States has caught attention for a more serious reason—showing a pet dog's behaviour leading to a house fire.

In a dramatic incident in Oklahoma, a surveillance camera captured a pet dog chewing a lithium-ion battery while playing indoors, resulting in the battery catching fire. The 36-second video later went viral on social media.

The video, shared by Collin Rugg and originally posted by the Tulsa Fire Department, features two dogs and a cat. One of the dogs bites the battery, which then explodes, causing the house to catch fire. The footage shows the dog fleeing from the fire and then observing the blaze.

The swift intervention of the fire force prevented a major disaster. Andy Little, the public information officer for the Tulsa Fire Department, highlighted the dangers of lithium-ion batteries, which can store substantial amounts of energy. He emphasised that such products should only be used according to consumer guidelines to avoid similar incidents.
