Toronto: Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe, was once again targeted in a violent shooting outside the premises on Thursday. This marks the third such attack on the cafe within the past four months.

The recent incident was claimed by gang members Kulveer Sidhu and Goldy Dhillon, affiliates of the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. In a social media post, the duo took responsibility for the shooting but insisted their actions were aimed only at those who wrong or cheat them, not innocent civilians.

The post read, “Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Today’s firing at Caps Cafe, Surrey, was carried out by me, Kulveer Sidhu, and Goldy Dhillon. We hold no grudge against the general public. Those who owe us or cheat us will be warned. Bollywood individuals who speak against our religion should also be prepared, bullets can come from anywhere.”

3rd attack in 4 months at the Kap’s cafe

The first attack on Kap’s Cafe was claimed by Harjit Singh Laddi, a wanted terrorist associated with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). That attack reportedly stemmed from remarks made by Kapil Sharma that were perceived to have offended the Nihang Sikh community.

The second attack involved gangs linked to Goldy Dhillon and Lawrence Bishnoi. Bishnoi, currently imprisoned, has been notorious for targeting Bollywood superstar Salman Khan due to the actor’s involvement in the blackbuck hunting case, a sensitive issue for the Bishnoi community, which holds the animal sacred.

For the longest time, Kapil Sharma’s sketch comedy shows were produced by Salman before the comedian-actor moved over to Netflix for the streaming show ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’.

This pattern of violence isn’t isolated to Kapil Sharma’s cafe. Last year, in October, politician Baba Siddique was shot near his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area, another attack claimed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
