Helicopter crash in Nepal’s Khotang during landing: 1 injured, 0 fatalities reported

Kathmandu: A helicopter belonging to Air Dynasty crashed during landing in eastern Nepal’s Khotang District on Wednesday, leaving one passenger injured, officials confirmed.
The aircraft, registered as 9N-ASQ, had flown from Kathmandu and was attempting to land in a farmland area when the incident occurred at around 11.51 am.
According to Rekha Kandel, Chief District Officer of Khotang, the helicopter was carrying a dead body at the time of landing. “The helicopter crashed while landing in farmland. No fatalities have been reported. More details are awaited,” she told ANI.
The company stated that there were five passengers on board, along with the pilot, identified as Sabin Thapa. While one passenger sustained injuries, the pilot and the remaining passengers escaped unharmed.
A rescue helicopter, registered as 9N-ANA, has been dispatched to evacuate the injured individual. Preliminary findings suggest that strong winds or dust during landing may have contributed to the crash. Authorities have launched further investigations to ascertain the exact cause.
More details are expected as the situation develops.
