The Indian Embassy in the UAE is set to replace its current passport and attestation centres with 14 new service centres across the country. The move comes as part of a major restructuring effort to streamline consular services for the over 40 lakh Indians living in the UAE.

The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has re-launched the tender process for a Indian Consular Application Centre (ICAC) to be set up at 14 locations across the UAE. The new initiative aims to centralise all consular services under one roof, making it more convenient for Indian nationals and foreigners seeking Indian visas.

Tender process, service centres

Service providers are now invited to bid for the management of these new ICAC locations, with the goal of launching the centres by the second quarter of 2025. The new system will consolidate the passport and visa, and attestation services, which are currently handled by two separate service providers: BLS International and IVS Global.

The embassy has outlined new requirements, including a dedicated website for booking appointments, a real-time dashboard to track applications, and strict deadlines for both appointments and service delivery.

New locations for service centres

The 14 new centres will be spread across key locations in the UAE, including:

  • Abu Dhabi: Al Khalidiya, Al Reem, and Musaffah
  • Dubai: Al Ain, Ghayathi, Bur Dubai, and JLT/Marina
  • Sharjah: Al Majaz
  • Ajman: Al Jurf, Fujairah, and Umm al-Quwain
  • Khor Fakkan: Corniche/Subara and Kalba
  • Ras Al Khaimah: Nakheel/Khujan/Mareed
