New rehabilitation project for returnee NRIs proposed by Muslim cultural centre

Mumbai: The All India Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (AIKMCC) has put forward comprehensive proposals addressing the issues, rehabilitation and employment generation for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) returning home.
K P Abdul Gafoor, the Maharashtra general secretary of AIKMCC met the Chief Minister and other Cabinet Ministers and urged the implementation of an extensive rehabilitation project for NRIs returning to their home state from various parts of the world.
He proposed the establishment of a manufacturing company and an industrial cooperative society under the 'Make in India' initiative, to be funded through NRI equity alongside a 25 per cent financial partnership from the government.
He stated that this project would create stable employment opportunities for returnee expatriates while effectively utilising their investments and expertise for the industrial development of Kerala.
During the meeting, KP Abdul Gafoor honoured Chief Minister V D Satheesan, Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty, Education Minister N Samsudheen, Public Works Minister P K Basheer and Fisheries Minister A E Abdul Gafoor. Muscat KMCC leaders C K P Rayees and Kadar Mammu also took part in the discussion.
