Malayali wins over ₹57 crore in Big Ticket Abu Dhabi draw

A Malayali sales executive based in Sharjah has won AED 25 million (over ₹57 crore) in the Abu Dhabi Big Ticket draw. The prize was shared among a 20-member group led by Aravind Appukuttan.

Aravind, who had been purchasing tickets for the past two years, bought the winning ticket (No. 447363) on November 22.

Expressing his disbelief, he said the win was unexpected, and he has yet to decide how to use the money. “A friend called to inform me about the prize. At first, I couldn’t believe it,” he added.

This was the final Big Ticket draw of 2024. Authorities have not revealed further details about the winners.

In addition to Aravind, Abdul Nasser, another Malayali, won AED 100,000, and MD Mehdi, a construction worker, secured AED 50,000, which he shared with his 17 colleagues. Another Malayali, Akash Raj, won AED 70,000 in the same draw.
