Chennai engineer wins Rs 230 cr in Emirates draw jackpot

Sriram Rajagopalan, a retired engineer from Chennai, has become the talk of the town after winning a staggering Rs 230 crore in the Emirates Draw—the largest jackpot in the game’s history.
Sriram had purchased his winning ticket on March 16, just a day after his birthday—a routine he had followed many times before. But this time, fortune favoured him. He matched all seven numbers in the MEGA7 game by Emirates Draw, operated globally by Tycheros.
“I didn’t believe it at first,” Sriram recalled. “I replayed the draw video and even took a screenshot of the winning numbers!” He revealed that he had selected the numbers by randomly tapping on his phone screen with a stylus—eyes closed.
Describing the moment, Sriram said, “It was 70% happiness and 30% fear. It’s a huge amount. I’ve never handled something like this before, but Emirates Draw guided me through it all. This win isn’t just for me—it’s hope for my family, my children, and everyone reading this. Every father dreams of securing their children’s future. Now, I finally can. This is my chance to build generational wealth.”
Sriram had moved to Saudi Arabia in 1998 and returned to India in 2023 upon retiring.
