19 Malayali nurses arrested in Kuwait for lack of documents; lodged at deportation centre

Kuwait: 30 Indians including 19 Malayali nurses were arrested during a security check at a private clinic in Kuwait. The action was taken after it was found that they did not have required documents. The arrested have been shifted to the deportation centre.
The nurses were caught during a security check conducted by the Human Resources Committee at a hospital located in the Malia region. A total of 60 people were arrested during the security check. Among the arrested Malayali nurses, there are many women with young babies.
The relatives of those arrested claim that they have all the required documents including visas. The relatives alleged that the real problem was the dispute between the hospital owner and the sponsor. They have approached Minister of External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, Indian Embassy and NORKA-Roots for their release.
