TN Govt to release white paper on state finance on Monday

Chennai: Tamil Nadu government will release a 120-page white paper on the state's finances on Monday. Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan will be releasing the white paper on the hazardous condition of the state economy. It will bring to light the financial irregularities that took place in the past 10 years when AIADMK was in power in the state.

The DMK-led government decided to release the white paper ahead of the state budget which is slated for August 13. The white paper is a government report that points out the financial liabilities and the causes of revenue loss in different sectors.

The government claimed that there was huge discrepancies in the audit reports and the white paper is released to ensure transparency in the state’s financial affairs.
