Kozhikode government Cyberpark poised for major expansion

Kozhikode: The government Cyberpark here is preparing for a major expansion, with plans to attract more investors and developers by offering space on long-term leases. Individuals and companies will be able to lease land and construct buildings, or rent space to other companies.

The new project aims to bring more investors and developers to the district, and to create more jobs. As part of this, the government is inviting co-developers to construct new buildings on vacant land in the cyberpark. The land will be leased for an initial period of 30 years, which can be extended up to 90 years.

The government cyberpark is spread over a total of 43 acres, of which 25 acres are currently leased. The existing Sahya building is now full, and there is no space available for new companies.

To address this issue, the government recently approved the construction of a new 4 lakh square foot IT building in the Cyberpark. Construction has already begun, and the new building is expected to attract more companies to Kozhikode and create more employment opportunities.

In addition to the new IT building, the new project also aims to provide more facilities for companies and individuals interested in setting up IT, ITeS, and other industries in the cyberpark. As part of this, a football turf is also under construction in the Cyberpark.

Currently, 2,100 employees are working in 84 companies in the government Cyberpark, which has an area of 3 lakh square feet. The cyberpark generated software export revenue of Rs. 105 crore in the last financial year.
