Salary distribution to employees complete: Kerala govt

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has informed that it has completed the distribution of pending salaries of staffers. This comes after the state government received flak over salary dues to employees, especially those from education and health departments. The staffers did not receive salary till Thursday. Government sources informed that pending salaries were credited.

It may be noted that the financial crunch had hit salary distribution. Nearly one lakh employees, that is almost 20% of the total of five lakh government employees, did not receive their salaries on time. The salary distribution was reportedly deferred to prevent the state treasury from running into overdraft.
