IndiGo is all set to launch three new direct routes connecting UAE to India. The new routes will connect Zayed International Airport (AUH) to Mangaluru (IXE), Tiruchirappalli (TRZ), and Coimbatore (CJB) in India, thus streghthening IndiGo’s connectivity to the UAE.

Welcoming this announcement by IndiGo, Nathalie Jongma, president of Aviation Development, Abu Dhabi Airports says that this expansion is much more than just adding flights. “It is about creating accessible links for families and friends, opening new pathways for businesses, and building on our successful partnership with Indigo."

This announcement is in sync with Abu Dhabi Airports reporting a 33.5% rise in passenger traffic for the first six months of the year. The addition of new routes brings the total number of IndiGo-routes to Middle East to 13.

Sanjeev Ramdas, executive vice president airport operations and customer services at IndiGo, reiterates IndiGo’s strengthening presence in the middle east. “These routes underline the vital role Abu Dhabi plays as a hub for our travellers."

“In Zayed International Airport, we have found the ideal partner to further our global reach, opening doors to enhanced connectivity and providing our customers with even more travel options,” Ramdas further adds.

Apart from this international expansion IndiGo has also unveiled a new direct route connecting New Delhi and Vijayawada starting September 13, 2024. These new flights will enhance access to international destinations for explorers from the East Coast, via New Delhi

With the introduction of these flights, IndiGo will operate 135 weekly flights from Vijayawada to 9 cities in India.

IndiGo is steadily increasing its domestic as well as international network every week with newer destinations. Interestingly, the airline is also adding one new aircraft to its fleet on a regular basis, coinciding with the airline’s commitment of seamless connectivity.

The airline also recently introduced business-class on select high-demand routes in what experts call a potential competition for Air India.
