Gold rates today (August 21, 2026): 24K gold holds at ₹1.59 lakhs; Check city-wise prices

Gold prices across major Indian bullion markets demonstrated continued strength on 21 August 2026, driven by global market movements and steady domestic demand. The price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹1,59,280 per 10 grams across key trading centres, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Meanwhile, 22-carat gold, which is widely favoured for traditional jewellery crafting, was priced at ₹1,46,010 per 10 grams. On a single-gram basis, 24-carat gold traded at ₹15,928 while 22-carat gold hovered at ₹14,601.
Regional variations remained visible across southern markets. For 21 August 2026, 22-carat gold was recorded in Kerala at ₹14,600 per gram, with 24-carat digital gold holding at ₹15,330 per gram. Concurrently, gold rates in Maharashtra reflected an overall surge of over 8 per cent since the beginning of August 2026, edging up to ₹1,59,280 per 10 grams for 24-carat purity.
