Youth kidnaps minor girl from Thrissur railway station, attacks child helpline official

Thrissur: In a shocking incident, a minor girl was kidnapped in broad daylight from Thrissur railway station on Thursday morning at 10 am.

The incident happened near the Railway Protection Force (RPF) office here. As per the sources, the accused, a 20-year-old youth, kidnapped a 16-year-old girl, who was with child helpline officials. Both of them are migrants.

It is learned that the accused attacked an official using a beer bottle before fleeing with the girl. One official was injured.

The man and the girl arrived at Thrissur railway station on Wednesday night. Child line workers intervened when they noticed the suspicious circumstances. They took the girl away from the man, intending to present her before the Child Welfare Committee. However, the man entered the child line office and threatened the staff with a broken beer bottle.

The officers have reached out to the girl's parents, who have reported her as missing.
