Young man hit by wave goes missing during Vizhinjam Port visit with family

Thiruvananthapuram: A family's leisure trip to admire Vizhinjam Port turned tragic when a young man went missing after falling into the sea. Ajesh, aged 26 and accompanied by his wife Preetha, their children, and friend Rajesh and family, went to Pulinkudi near the AR camp on Sunday evening to view the port.

The incident occurred around 6 pm when Ajesh, while exploring the area, climbed a rock overlooking the sea. Rajesh recounted that Ajesh was swept away by a sudden wave and disappeared into the water.

Efforts to locate Ajesh began immediately. Authorities including Vizhinjam police, Coastal police, Fire force, and Marine enforcement of Fisheries immediately initiated search operations.

A coastal police boat is also deployed to assist in the search. Vizhinjam Police have registered a case regarding the incident.
