Kozhikode: The demonic forces of hatred would be left unconscious if the Congress leaders were able to uphold the true spirit of Mahatma Gandhi, said writer Subhash Chandran. He was speaking during a discussion on his book Jnanasnanam, held as part of the 'Thrivarnotsavam' event marking the inauguration of the new District Congress Committee office.

"Mahatma Gandhi is a symbol of India’s inherent goodness, something that can never truly be erased. Even if those who wish to erase him succeed in draining India dry, in the end, Gandhi will rise again from within it," Subhash Chandran said.
Former MLA K.S. Sabarinadhan said that religion is a deeply personal freedom guaranteed by the Constitution, but that freedom has been compromised in our India through the Waqf Bill amendment.

"If things continue the way they are now, it won't be long before even school textbooks begin to portray Gandhi as a negative character," said writer and former collector K.V. Mohankumar. Pazhakulam Madhu and R.S. Panikkar also participated in the discussion. DCC President K. Praveen Kumar delivered the introductory address. P.K. Ragesh and Baburaj also spoke.
