‘Won’t watch Kerala Story 2, saw Dhurandhar twice’: Rajeev Chandrasekhar on film row

Kochi: BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that he has not watched the trailer of Kerala Story 2, a film accused of maligning Kerala. He added that he does not intend to watch the movie. “Those who want to watch can do so. Everyone has the right to make a film. If there is any violation of the law, the court will stop it,” he said.
“Article 19 of the Indian Constitution guarantees the fundamental right to freedom of expression. Everyone has the right to make a film. If it is unlawful, the court will intervene. But everyone has the right to make a movie. If you don’t want to watch it, don’t watch. Those who wish to can watch. When Empuraan was released, I had said I wasn’t interested in watching it. But I never said it should not be released,” Rajeev Chandrasekhar said.
He also told mediapersons that Dhurandhar is a good film. He said he was interested in watching it and had watched it twice.
Meanwhile, the Kerala High Court has ordered the withdrawal of the teaser and trailer of the controversial Kerala Story 2. The court observed that there are people who have concerns about the film and that the court will watch it. The High Court stated that Kerala is a state firmly rooted in secularism and that portraying it in the manner shown in the teaser would send a wrong message.
