Women’s Development Corporation to sanction loans worth Rs 200 crore

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation (KSWDC) will disburse self-employment loans worth Rs 200 crores this fiscal year.
With the financial assistance of the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), the corporation is planning to sanction loans to 4,000 more women, which is more than last year.
Reportedly, the KSWDC will take a loan of Rs 100 crore from NMDFC. The cabinet had earlier decided to provide a government guarantee for the same loan.
With this, the corporation will get a government guarantee of Rs 845.56 crore, said Health Minister Veena George.
A total of Rs 165.05 crore was disbursed to 11,766 women in the state for self-employment startups in the financial year 2021-22.
So far, Rs 109 crore have been distributed to 7,115 women this year.
