Kuzhalnadan to meet press over alleged financial irregularities involving CM's daughter

Thiruvananthapuram: The ongoing feud between the CPM and Mathew Kuzhalnadan took an unusual turn on Saturday after Muvattupuzha MLA announced his intention to hold a press conference to share some answers to questions he raised against the government in the financial irregularities involving Chief Minister's daughter Veena Vijayan. The press conference will be held on Saturday evening.

The Congress leader decided to convene the press conference after the government failed to respond to the queries raised three days ago.

Meanwhile, the government responded by launching an investigation into allegations of fraudulent financial transactions and tax evasion levelled against Kuzhalnadan.

On Friday, the revenue department inspected a house inherited by the MLA as family property. Surveyors from Kothamangalam Taluk also inspected the MLA's land in Kadavur Village. A report will be handed over to Thehsildar in the coming days.

Revenue Department officials conducted the inspection after DYFI block secretary Febin P Moosa filed a complaint alleging that the MLA had illegally filled a land adjacent to his house.

Meanwhile, Kuzhalnadan welcomed the revenue department's move and described it as a politically driven action. He also stated that no forms of discrepancies were found in the inspection held earlier.
