Video | Wild boar attack leaves Thiruvananthapuram locality on edge; shops damaged, one injured

Thiruvananthapuram: Several shops were damaged in a wild boar attack at Vellarada in Thiruvananthapuram district. One person was injured in the incident, which occurred around 5:30 pm on Thursday, leaving the locality in hours of fear. The attack was carried out by a group of wild boars.

The owner of a mobile shop near Vellarada Junction sustained a leg injury in the attack. The boars also entered the nearby Vijay Aquarium, where they damaged several fish tanks, two large mirrored cabinets, and chairs.

Residents reported that the wild boars came in groups from the Kanayikkodu area to Vellarada Junction. As they crossed the road at the junction, the sound of vehicles startled them, causing them to scatter and run. Following this, the boars entered nearby shops and became aggressive.
