Watermelon kept at home in Ponnani explodes

Ponnani: A watermelon bought from a shop exploded in the kitchen. The incident took place on Monday morning at Nasrudhin’s house in Ponnani.
 
The watermelon was bought from a shop near MES College. It exploded on Monday morning. The residents of the house came running to the kitchen after hearing the sound from the watermelon. They found the watermelon scattered on the floor with a foul smell. 
 
The health department and food safety officials of the municipality were informed. After inspection, a sample from the shop was taken to conduct tests.
