Water tariff will not be hiked anymore, says Minister Roshy Augustine

Peerumedu: Kerala Water Resources Minister Roshy Augustine said that water tariff will not be hiked anymore and added that the tariff was increased for the sustenance of the water authority too. 

Speaking at the inauguration of Kerala Science Congress in Kuttikkanam, the minister said, “The propaganda that the water tariff will be hiked to five percent is wrong.” 

“It will be examined whether the officials committed negligence in the incident in which a young woman got injured after falling into a pit taken by the water authority in Ernakulam,” he said. 

The minister also added that there are no issues between the Public Works Department (PWD) and the water resource department.
