Kochi: Police has issued a notice against actor Vinayakan for his disparaging remarks against the demised former CM Oommen Chandy. The notice declares that the actor must present himself to the Ernakulam North police station.

Although the actor was asked to present himself to the police station previously, he failed to show. Vinayakan explained that he couldn’t present himself because he was admitted to the hospital. Following this, police issued a notice to appear before the police within three days.

Amidst all this, Vinayakan has filed a complaint against the Congress party members who vandalized his Kochi apartment. However, police are yet to register a case in this matter. The police clarify that they will take up this case only after Vinayakan appears and records his statement.

Vinayakan had posted a video on his Facebook page voicing displeasure over the media’s coverage of Oommen Chandy’s funeral. Following widespread outbursts, the actor took the video down. However, Congress leaders filed a complaint against Vinayakan as a result of which, police issued a notice to the actor.
