Video: Rock falls on bike passengers on Thamarassery ghat road
Kozhikode: Scary visuals of a stone falling on a bike in the Thamarassery ghat have surfaced. The video was recorded by the riders in the bike behind the one that met with the accident.
Two youths were admitted to hospital with serious injuries two weeks ago. Abhinav (20) succumbed to the injuries. Aneesh (26) is still under treatment.

In the video, it is seen that a rock that came from a higher altitude hitting the bike of Abhinav and Aneesh. They were thrown into the valley by the force within seconds. The stone then hit on a tree and got jammed in the fifth hairpin turn. The accident happened at the sixth hairpin bend.
Six friends were travelling to Wayanad on three bikes. The rock, which came from the forest area in between the fifth and sixth hairpin turns, was moved from its position when a tree fell.
Their bike got stuck in the protection fence.
It is believed that this is the first accident of this kind in the history of Thamarassery ghat road.
