Cabbage price skyrockets to historic high of Rs 60 per kg

Marayur: The price of cabbage has skyrocketed at a time when tomato price is at Rs 120 per kilogram. In an auction held at Udumalai market on Saturday, cabbage was sold for Rs 60, while the cost was at Rs 30 last week.
Continuous downpour in the last few months had affected yield and the produce were not available in vegetable markets. These have been attributed as the reasons for the price hike.
