UGC scheme for PG-holding teachers in govt, aided homeo colleges

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala finance department released an order by bringing the pay scale of all teachers in government and aided homeo medical colleges with regular PG degree into the ambit of UGC scheme. The order has been issued as many teachers still continue under state’s scale.

The latest order will be effective from the date in which the teachers secured post graduation.

Union Grants Commission had revised salary for the teachers in government homeo colleges in 2021. This was made binding for the teachers in aided medical colleges under a condition that the government will decide over the arrears of salary revision only later. 

The order introduced a performance based appraisal system for all teachers (with or without PG) continuing under state’s scale in the homeo colleges. According to this, only the teachers who secure a definite score in the appraisal will be eligible for time-bound higher grade promotion.
