Land-related rules: UDF hartal in Idukki today

Thodupuzha: The District Congress Committee has announced a hartal in Idukki on Friday demanding amendment to the 1963 and 1994 Land Regulations. The changes sought are withdrawal of the construction ban in 13 panchayats, resumption of land title deeds, and resolving irregularities in digital resurvey. 

The hartal will be observed from 6 am till 6 pm, said DCC president CP Mathew.

Emergency services including milk, newspaper, hospital, exams, and events like marriage and deaths have been excluded from the hartal.  

Meanwhile, a procession and meeting were organised in Thodupuzha city by the block Congress committee as a prelude. The meeting was inaugurated by CP Mathew and presided over by the block Congress president.
