UDF govt firm on not continuing Loka Kerala Sabha; No funds allocated, says CM’s office

Thiruvananthapuram: The Chief Minister’s Office said the decision not to continue the Loka Kerala Sabha is a political decision of the UDF and there has been no change in that position. The government is not considering organising the Loka Kerala Sabha in the same manner as it was held during the LDF government’s tenure. The office also clarified that not a single rupee has been allocated for the 6th edition of the Loka Kerala Sabha.

The Loka Kerala Sabha Secretariat currently has an office. Funds have been allocated only for its administrative expenses and programmes organised through Norka, including the Business Leadership Meet. At the same time, the welfare of expatriates remains a top priority for the government, the office said. The funds have been allocated for preliminary activities to implement such proposals, it added.
