UCC Seminar: Let CPM prove its merit by rejecting EMS - Muralidharan

Kozhikode: CPM does not have the competence to conduct a seminar on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Or else, CPM will have to discard EMS Namboodiripad, said MP K. Muralidharan. He added that there is no disconcerting concern about Muslim League’s participation in the seminar.

Muralidharan said that the Congress has a firm stand regarding the UCC and alleged that the seminar is part of CPM’s vote bank politics. He also clarified that Congress will not attend the seminar even if an invitation is extended. 

Meanwhile, Muslim League rejected CPM’s invitation to participate in the UCC seminar. The decision was taken at a League meeting led by Panakkad Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal. There was contention regarding participation in the seminar among League members.
