2 workers killed, 11 injured as concrete mixer truck overturns in Kannur

Kannur: Two workers were killed, and 11 others were injured after a mini truck carrying a concrete mixer lost control and overturned at Payyavoor on Saturday evening.

The accident happened at Mutharikkulam while the vehicle was returning after completing concrete work. The truck reportedly lost control while descending a slope, crashed into an electric post and flipped upside down.

All the victims were migrant workers. The identities of the deceased are yet to be confirmed.

The two workers died on the spot after being trapped beneath the overturned truck. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
