2 dead, 4 injured in head-on collision between ambulance and car in Thrissur | VIDEO
Thrissur, Kerala: In a tragic incident, two people were killed and four others injured after an ambulance and a car collided head-on near Kanippayyur on Sunday.
According to media reports, the ambulance was transporting a patient, Kunjiraman of Kannur, along with the driver and three others to Kunnamkulam. The car, which was headed toward Thrissur, was carrying passengers identified as Anto and Pushpa, both residents of Koonamoochi.
The car reportedly veered into the wrong lane and hit the ambulance, causing the driver to lose control. The impact overturned the ambulance in the middle of the road and left the car’s front end heavily damaged.
Among the deceased were Kunjiraman and Pushpa. The injured were quickly rushed to the hospital. The accident also caused the car’s diesel tank to rupture, spilling fuel onto the road. Additionally, oxygen leaked from a cylinder inside the ambulance. The Firefighters were rushed to the scene and took precautions to prevent further damage.
