Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvallam CI has filed a report against a police officer from the Kadakkal Police Station, alleging the leak of investigation details pertaining to the death of Shahana Shaji, from Vandithada. The CI has accused the Kadakkal officer of sharing crucial case information with the suspects. This report has been submitted to the Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner, urging action against the accused officer.

The case revolves around the tragic death of Shahana Shaji (23), a resident of Vandithadam, Thiruvallam, who was found dead by suicide in her home on December 28. Allegations suggest that mental torture and harassment by her in-laws led to her untimely demise. Following Shahana's death, her husband Noufal and his mother went into hiding.

During the search for the absconding individuals, it was revealed that a relative, an officer from the Kadakkal station, had been leaking information to them, compromising the police's investigative efforts.

The report from Thiruvallam CI highlights that the accused had access to precise details of the police's every move during the investigation. The CI has strongly urged action against this officer.

As the search continues for Noufal and his mother, the police have confiscated their mobile phones and the vehicle they were using. There is significant unrest in Thiruvallam due to the failure to apprehend the suspects involved in Shahana's case.
