Trans woman found dead in Malappuram; suicide suspected, blames friend in final Instagram video

Tanur (Malappuram): A trans woman was found dead outside her friend’s residence here on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Kameela, a native of Vadakara. The incident happened around 4:30 am outside a house in Ozhur, where her friend was staying at his brother’s residence. Kameela was found hanging inside a temporary shed constructed for parking vehicles.

She had been residing in Tirur's Payyanangadi.

Prior to the incident, Kameela posted a video on Instagram stating her intent to die by suicide and alleging that her friend was responsible. She mentioned in the video that she planned to end her life near his residence.

Tanur Police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
