Kashmir accident at Zoji La pass: Palakkad village in deep shock

Palakkad: A profound wave of sorrow engulfed the entire village upon receiving the heart-wrenching news of the untimely demise of four men from Palakkad. The tragic incident occurred in a road accident on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday evening.
A total of 13 people from Nedungode village in Chittur went on a trip, covering various locations and eventually arriving at Jammu and Kashmir.
They left Olavakkode railway station on Thursday evening and travelled to various places in the last six days. On Tuesday, they met with the accident while embarking on a road trip in two vehicles through the Zoji La pass to Ladakh.
The deceased has been identified as K. Sudheesh (32), R Anil (33), Rahul (28), S. Vignesh (24) and Kashmir native Ajas Ahmmed Shah, who was the driver. Meanwhile, Manoj (24), K. Rajesh (30) and K. Arun are undergoing treatment.
The car's driver, who was among those killed in the accident, lost control of the vehicle at a turn near the Zojila Pass due to a slippery road in the snow-covered area, the officials said.
While two bodies were retrieved soon after the accident, rescue teams had to search the snow-covered area for several hours to locate the other three bodies, the officials said.
