Kochi: Twenty20 chief coordinator Sabu M Jacob here on Friday referred to the people's verdict in Thrikkakara bypoll as something which reflects ant-government sentiment against LDF. However, he pointed out that more about the verdict can be said only after studying the matter.

According to Jacob, Twenty20’s influence on the vote margin can be ascertained only after a review of the election. He pointed out that the verdict shows people have not approved the development outlook projected by the LDF. “Will explain more details later,” he said.

Meanwhile, Twenty20 did not contest the bypoll. However, in the wake of the election, it formed an alliance with AAP called as People’s Welfare Alliance (PWA). The contest for the vacant seat became a three-way affair of LDF, UDF and NDA after the PWA backed out saying they would not be contesting in the bypoll as fielding a candidate does not have any political significance.
