Three injured in bike-van-auto rickshaw collision in Kollam

Punalur (Kollam): In an accident involving three different vehicles, a bike caught fire after hitting a pickup van, following which an autorickshaw hit the rear of the same van. Three people were injured in the accident. The incident took place on the Punalur-Muvattupuzha State Highway near Punalur-Mukkadavu bridge at 6:30 pm on Monday.

Bike rider Bibin (30) and auto rickshaw driver Mathew, both natives of Punalur, and driver of the pick-up van Hari, native of Thiruvananthapuram were injured. Bibin and Mathew were admitted to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital and Hari was taken to Punalur Taluk Hospital. 

The bike hit the pick-up van which was on its way towards Punalur. It overturned and immediately caught fire and was completely burnt. Bibin was injured after being thrown out of the bike in the impact of the collision. The autorickshaw was coming right behind the pickup van and hit its rear.
