Three injured as tree falls during dog show in Thrissur

Thrissur: Three persons were injured as a huge Gulmohar tree fell on them during a dog show at Mannuthy Govt. Veterinary College ground here on Sunday. One of the injured is in critical condition. The incident took place around 12:15pm on Sunday.

A car owned by Harish, a native of Hosur in Tamil Nadu, was completely destroyed. But the two dogs inside the car had a narrow escape.

Many people from other states were at the show organised by Thrissur Kennel Club. It is reported that the roots of the tree were completely damaged.

The tree fell over the road inside the campus. If the tree would have fallen on the other side, more vehicles would have been damaged.  

Several people, who were standing under the tree, ran away after hearing the sound.
