Father-son duo among 3 die by electrocution in separate incidents in Kerala

Perinthalmanna: Three persons, including a man and his son, were electrocuted to death in two different accidents at Odamala and Parakanni of Aliparamba Panchayat here in Malappuram.
Mohammad Ashraf (50) of Kavundath House, a farmer from Parakanni, tragically lost his life along with his son Mohammad Amin (17) due to electric shock on Sunday morning. The incident occurred on their farm near their home. It is suspected that the electric shock was caused by an electric fence installed to protect their yam cultivation from wild boars, which had been damaging their crops.
As Ashraf, who went to the farm by 10 a.m., did not turn up, his son Amin and daughter Muhsina went to the farm to look for him. Amin also was electrocuted while trying to save his father who was lying on the farm. Realising that it was an electric shock, his daughter alarmed the locals who rushed the duo to the hospital. However, both could not be saved. Ashraf was survived by wife Subaida and other child Aslam, besides Muhsina.
In a separate incident, Kunji Muhammed (Manu-42), son of Unneen Kutty, died of electric shock at Vattappara in Odamala. The accident happened when he hit an electric wire while plucking jackfruit from the neighbourhood. The incident happened at 9.30 a.m. on Sunday. He is survived by mother Khadijah, Wife Asma and children Nadia, Mustafa and a one and a half month old baby girl.
The Postmortem examination of Kunji Muhammad's body was carried out at Perinthalmanna District Hospital.
