This 78-year-old former footballer is still in pursuit for finding talents

Thrissur: For TK Chathunni, Thrissur Corporation Stadium brings back memories of his best moments as a football coach, the days when he nurtured legendary footballers like IM Vijayan, Jo Paul Ancheri. He lifted the Federation Cup with the Police team in this same stadium. 

The 78-year-old former footballer and coach, Chathunni, is widely regarded as one of the best footballers that represented India from Kerala. Despite accolades, he is determined to bring glory to Kerala FC by taking over the role of technical adviser. Further, football coaching which came to a standstill following the pandemic resumed here.

Under the guidance of Chathunni, young players from children aged 5 to the senior team are being trained at the FC Kerala Soccer School. Free education and training will be provided for 120 students selected from this camp. Chathunni said that the service mindedness of FC Kerala in providing service to these children has made him take up the role of the technical adviser.
