Thiruvananthapuram: On the day his board exams were set to begin, a Plus Two student was found hanging at his home in Vattiyoorkavu here on Monday. The deceased has been identified as R Darshan of Darshaneeyam House at Maruthamkuzhy. A purported suicide note was found on the spot which cited exam-related anxiety as the reason for ending his life.

The note mentioned that he was forgetting everything he had studied and urged his parents not to be upset. Darshan, a talented tabla artist, had secured an A grade at the Kerala State School Arts Festival. He had also scored A+ in all subjects in both Class 10 and Plus One exams.

"I was never pressured by anyone. Let my friends study well. I am leaving because my heart is not strong," read the note.

Darshan had spoken to his parents as late as 11 pm on the previous night, showing no signs of distress, according to family members.
