Thiruvananthapuram: A man has been arrested in connection with the incident in which 19 cars were vandalised in Thampanoor railway station. The person identified as Poojappura native Abraham (18) is suspected to be a drug addict. He told the police that he has destroyed the items he stole from the vehicles.

Abraham had vandalised 19 cars parked in the Thampanoor railway station's parking area on Saturday night. Later, when the CCTV visuals were examined, it was found out that a single person managed to damage the vehicles.

The owners noticed the damaged cars this morning and informed the security staff and police. Window glasses and windshields of the vehicles were broken.

The parking area is normally guarded. However, due to heavy rain, the security staff could not surveil the area as usual. The accused had tried to steal music systems of some cars.
