Fresh from swearing-in, team VDS ministers meet over breakfast at Mathrubhumi | Photos

Thiruvananthapuram: A day after Team VDS assumed office, members of the new ministry led by VD Satheesan visited Mathrubhumi office on Tuesday, where they interacted with the management and staff over breakfast and spoke about their new responsibilities in government.
The ministers were welcomed by Mathrubhumi Managing Director M.V. Shreyams Kumar during the informal visit. The interaction focused on the ministers’ expectations, future plans and their experiences after taking charge in the new government.
Minister M. Liju said the government’s focus would be on working with sincerity, honesty and efficiency. He added that the administration hopes to make meaningful interventions that would benefit society and help improve the lives of ordinary people in Kerala.
Minister Sunny Joseph said portfolio decisions would be made by the Chief Minister and noted that preliminary discussions related to ministerial responsibilities had already begun. He also mentioned that there has been a rush of visitors following the swearing-in ceremony.
Minister KA Thulasi described the appointment as an unexpected responsibility and said she plans to handle the role carefully with guidance from senior leaders and experienced colleagues.
Minister A.P. Anil Kumar said the government intends to prioritise issues affecting common people, adding that the administration’s direction became clear from its first Cabinet meeting itself.
Minister Bindu Krishna said the new position offers a bigger opportunity to connect with people and respond more effectively to public concerns.
Minister C.P. John said the government faces several challenges in the coming months.
