Swapna Suresh named accused in fake complaint case

Thiruvananthapuram: Crime Branch listed Swapna Suresh as an accused in a fake complaint case, which was filed against an Air India officer. Crime Branch submitted the report, in which Swapna was named as the second accused, at Thiruvananthapuram First Class Magistrate Court.
Former Vice President of Air India SATS, Binoy Jacob, was named as the first accused in the case. Swapna Suresh has been charged with crimes of forging fake documents, cheating and impersonation.
The case was registered by cantonment police in connection with attempting to trap an Air India official in a fake molestation case in March 2016. Swapna came under the scanner when the case was handed over to crime branch in 2019.
Swapna was interrogated twice by the crime branch in connection with this. However, she did not appear for follow up procedures despite the demand made by investigating officers. Crime branch will try to get her in custody after NIA and customs interrogation.
The investigation officers suspect that Binoy Jacob has also forged his fake degree certificates to get placed in higher positions. Crime branch will expand the investigation as more people are suspected to be involved in the case.
