Mofiya Parveen case: Widespread protest against CI Sudheer; Congress blocks DIG’s vehicle

Aluva: Opposition parties are organising a widespread protest against Aluva East CI Sudheer who is facing allegations in connection with Mofiya Parveen's suicide.

Congress and the UDF protested against the delay in taking action against Sudheer. CI Sudheer continued his duty even on Wednesday and MLA Anwar Sadath staged a sit-in protest. Benny Behanan MP has also arrived on the scene.

The SP and DIG reached the police station in connection with the case. On their way to the station, Youth Congress activists stopped the DIG's vehicle and the antenna of the vehicle was damaged by the activists.

As the protest intensified, the police officials initiated conciliatory talks with the leaders. The Congress and the Muslim League are protesting inside and outside the police station plus the Mahila Morcha activists created blockade in the roads.

The DIG came to the station seeking an explanation from CI Sudheer. After the meeting, the leaders and CI Sudheer, the DIG may address the media. Earlier, there were reports that CI Sudheer had been removed from station duties, but he was found on duty after that too.
