Suspicion of phone theft: Man clobbered to death by friends; 2 migrant workers arrested in Manjeri

Manjeri: A man was murdered by two of his friends following a verbal spat regarding lost mobile phones. The victim and the accused are all migrant workers.
As per reports from the police, Ramshankar (33) a native of Bothiya Raiyat village in Madhya Pradesh was clobbered to death using a stone by Anil Kasdekar (34), a native of Betul Village, Madhya Pradesh, and Golu Tamidilkar (25), a native of Gurgaon. The crime took place near Kuthukal Road on Sunday night.
The duo suspected Ramshankar of having stolen their mobile phones. On Sunday, Golu and Anil took Ramshankar to Kuthukal Road and confronted him. This resulted in a verbal argument which soon turned sour and the two ended up smashing Ramshakar’s head with a stone.
Anil and Golu fled the spot leaving a severely injured Ramshankar who later died due to loss of blood.
The police arrested the accused at their residence based on the evidence retrieved from CCTV visuals. The accused were produced before the Manjeri Court and remanded.
